NineMSN reports Police are unhappy about the police escort for KD Lang on last weeks show.
Victorian police have been criticised after Canadian singer KD Lang received a motorcycle escort to make it to a television program.
Lang was running late to appear on the Ten Network’s Rove Live because of a plane delay on Sunday and was escorted by a motorcycle officer from Melbourne airport to the Rove Live studio in South Melbourne, the Herald Sun reported on Tuesday.
Victoria Police could not locate the officer involved or find any official request for help but it was investigating, a spokesman said. Heads of state and other dignitaries are normally the only people entitled to a police escort.
The Herald Sun reported a security officer for the show arranged for the escort, that the motorcycle’s lights and sirens were not used and the escort was kept to a 100km/h limit.
Roving Enterprises spokeswoman Ally Catterick and a spokeswoman for Lang’s record company, Warner Music, said they did not know who arranged the escort.
