The Herald Sun reports that this week’s episode of Rove will be pre-recorded so Rove can mark the one year anniversary of Belinda Emmett’s death in private.
ROVE McManus will mark the first anniversary of his wife Belinda Emmett’s death in private this Sunday - pre-recording his show and staying with his family.
November 11 marks the first anniversary of his wife Belinda Emmett’s death after her long battle with cancer. Although his show, Rove, usually airs live on Sunday night, this week’s episode will be recorded on Saturday morning. It is believed McManus will fly to Perth to spend time with his family during the sad time.
The Logie-winner has been supported through the difficult week by Channel 10 management, his Roving Enterprises staff and celebrity guests, Justin Timberlake, Missy Higgins and actor Vince Vaughn, who agreed to change their schedules. Justin Timberlake granted McManus his only Australian television interview, sitting down for the behind-the-scenes chat on Tuesday. The pressure of live television coupled with the emotional strain of the anniversary was behind the decision to pre-record. “We all thought this was the best way to approach the one-year anniversary,” a Channel 10 spokeswoman said.
