Caravan fans kept at bay

October 19th, 2007 · No Comments

The Courier Mail writes that Rove will be very happy they hired enough security for Sunday’s Brisbane show.

ROVE McManus caused chaos on the streets of suburban Ashgrove on Sunday night when he inadvertently revealed the location of his live broadcast. It was the first time Rove was filmed in Brisneyland, but the caravan park location was very secret squirrel - right until Rove mentioned, live on air, that they were at the Newmarket Gardens Caravan Park in Ashgrove. Within half an hour, more than 2000 fans were clambering to get in, only to be kept at bay by the local constabulary and a strong security contingent (luckily) hired for the occasion.

Good Charlotte boys Joel and Benji Madden were flying solo, with no sign of Nicole Richie. Guess Joel couldn’t convince his pregnant partner to spend the night with him in a trailer park. As for James Blunt, he left hired guns The Gin Club mightily impressed. The local rockers - who, despite rumours to the contrary, are consumate professionals - filled in as his backing band and got along with Ol’ Blunty like a house on fire. “He was the nicest guy and a pleasure to work with,” The Gin Club’s Ben Salter said.
